CALL FOR MAKERS

Why hello, maker friends!

MAKERS WILL BE ACCEPTED ON A ROLLING BASIS FOR THE NEXT SALT LAKE CITY MINI MAKER FAIRE. WE WILL ANNOUNCE WHEN APPLICATIONS OPEN SOON.

Making encompasses a variety of disciplines, and we’re looking for all types of projects and makers to help make this a fun and entertaining event and to celebrate the community spirit of making.

See past exhibits

We particularly encourage exhibits that are innovative, interactive and that highlight the process of making things. Here are just some of the topics that we’re looking for:

    • Fire and light art
    • Interactive, kinetic art projects (tabletop to large-scale)
    • Robotics
    • Electronics and microcontrollers – Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc.
    • Cosplay and costumes
    • Modified vehicles
    • Homegrown drones
    • Design and fabrication (both digital and analog)
    • Science, biology/biotech, and chemistry projects
    • Virtual and augmented reality
    • Craft – fiber arts, paper, printing, textiles, woodworking, smithing, jewelry making, metalwork, etc.
    • E-Textiles and wearables
    • Shelters (tiny homes, tents, domes, etc.)
    • Sustainability & green tech
    • Innovative food makers (not concessionaires, more info below)
    • Home, garden and DIY resources
    • Upcycling and reuse
    • Radios, vintage computers and game systems
    • Other retro technology
    • Electric and alternative-energy vehicles
    • Puppets, kites, toys and other whimsical creations
    • Music performances and participation
    • Unusual tools or machines
    • How to fix things or take them apart (vacuums, clocks, washing machines, etc.)
    • Recreation and outdoor products innovation

Show and Tell: Exhibiting as a maker at SLC Mini Maker Faire is typically FREE if you are simply showing and sharing your project(s) as a hobbyist or non-commercial endeavor.

Market and Sell: If you’re an individual, small business, organization, or startup who wants to market or sell products or services at the Faire, there is a small fee for this ($50-500 depending on the type of exhibit and exhibitor, with discounts up to 100% depending on how interactive the exhibit is for Fairegoers). Well-established nonprofit organizations, institutions, and larger companies are encouraged to support this community event with a sponsorship of Salt Lake City Mini Maker Faire which includes sponsor benefits.
