We’re hosting a Cardboard Challenge at the Salt Lake City Maker Faire as part of the Caine’s Arcade Global Cardboard Challenge. Build and share your own cardboard arcade game!

Additional details will be posted to our website this week, so stay tuned. We’re also looking for a few volunteers and sponsors to help with this fun event-within-an-event. Please go to our volunteer page to sign up.

If you aren’t familiar with Caine and his arcade, check out the most recent Caine’s Arcade video by Nirvan Mullick about this creative and entrepreneurial boy and the creative inspiration for cardboard arcades around the world.

Maker Camp, sponsored by MAKE magazine, is a virtual summer camp for teens, with a focus on creating, building, and discovering. Learn a new project every day and share your results with your friends and the rest of the world! The program runs online through August 24.

Check out Maker Camp here. If you’re participating, send us a link to your camper Google+ page and we’ll send you a discount code for tickets to the Salt Lake City Maker Faire on October 6 at Library Square.

Tech enthusiasts, crafters, craftspeople, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, inventors, do-it-yourselfers, artists, designers, science clubs, students, authors, commercial exhibitors, electronics clubs, and other awesome makers—we’re talking to YOU!

The Salt Lake City Mini Maker Faire is the perfect place to show your latest projects. It’s also a great opportunity to meet other interesting makers and participants. Submit your application to participate as a maker or volunteer to help us produce a fantastic community event.
