CURIOUS MINDS GATHER FOR A DAY OF DIY IN SLC

In Press Releases
INAUGURAL MAKER FESTIVAL AT THE INTERSECTION OF SCIENCE, ART, TECHNOLOGY AND CRAFT

(Salt Lake City, UT) On Saturday, October 6, mutant vehicles, robots, kinetic art and their makers will descend on downtown Salt Lake City for a one-day festival of creating, learning, inventing, crafting, recycling, hacking, building, playing, recreating, tinkering and connecting. The Salt Lake City Mini Maker Faire takes place on Saturday, October 6th from noon to 10 p.m. at Library Square, The Leonardo museum, and The City Library.

Over 120 makers, artists, engineers, tinkerers, scientists, clubs, hobbyists, builders, teachers, craftspeople, technologists, designers and DIY enthusiasts will share their passion for making with curious kids and adults at the festival.

This family-friendly event features hands-on workshops, demonstrations, and maker conversations in a fun environment. Attendees can participate in activities such as learn to solder, print in 3D, program a robot, pick a lock, and build a mini-hexayurt.

At the Cardboard Challenge, build and play cardboard arcade games (hosted as part of the Caine’s Arcade Global Cardboard Challenge). At the Great Salt Make, upcycle clothes into a new costume or screenprint your Faire t-shirt. At the Artwheels area on 200 East (free to the public), see some mutant vehicles and free-range robots.

Information about volunteering and tickets is available at slcmakerfaire.com. Faire tickets include admission to The Leonardo exhibits; tickets for Da Vinci the Genius will be available at a discount.
